My daughter was attending another Kihei Preschool previously. She had a wonderful teacher that she loved but she was constantly catching viruses had a year round runny nose and cough. She never was excited about school and I just figured that’s just how it is. After getting sick every few weeks I finally said enough is enough something isn’t right.
We pulled her out and enrolled her into Montessori Hale O Keiki. After visiting and observing the classroom I knew it was the right thing to do. I loved the Montessori way of teaching all the hands on activities would really engage my child. A smaller more intimate classroom size where my child would get the attention she needs. They also had many financial aid and scholarships accepted and available which plays a big factor in deciding which preschool you can afford. We applied for everything we could and it helped tremendously with tuition!
Since being enrolled here my daughter has been gloriously healthy not having to use her asthma pump once! To a mother who has dealt with a constantly sick child this is priceless. She is exited everyday to go to school and tells me she loves her school. No more crying at the door at drop offs. As a parent what I love most about Montessori Hale O Keiki is the strong communication between teachers/staff and parents. I can easily e-mail the teachers and or administrator followed by a quick response or leave a note at drop off or pick up on the parent notes.

Having a child that is happy and healthy that loves going to school is worth more than anything to me as a parent. I strongly recommend Montessori Hale O Keiki if you feel the same.

I have two children who attend South Maui Montessori school. When is in first grade and enter the school last year. During his first month of school maybe three weeks in, he said to me “mom, I like School better than I thought“
I think that’s what every parent wants to hear. I was so happy that we found a school he likes going to every day. He loves doing cursive, and multiplication tables, neither of which he would be learning at this age in a public school.

My other son is in fourth grade, and has been going to the school since first grade. What I noticed both when he entered first and when he entered the upper classroom and fourth is a huge jump in self-discipline, responsibility, and getting work done.

My other son is in fourth grade, and has been going to the school since first grade. When I noticed both when he entered first and when he entered the upper classroom and fourth is a huge jump in self-discipline, responsibility, and getting work done. It’s amazing to see him come right home from school and complete his homework right away. Then in the morning he gets up and pretty promptly finishes his chores. I’m really grateful that the school not only teaches academics, but really contributes to shaping well-rounded people who take responsibility and pride in their work.
