Catholic education in general is a great blessing and sacrifice to give a child. Once upon a time, St. Paul’s was the best. In the last few years it has headed downhill as the pressure to become more diversified has caused it’s administration’s focus to become locked on transitioning to a non English speaking attend for almost free if you are of Hispanic decent student population. This is not to say that Hispanics do not deserve a Catholic education, but rather, instead of thinking that a speech therapist would help students communicate, after school ESL classes could be offered or during school the students could be exposed to multiple foreign languages as a class or elective. In addition, it’s not very Catholic to choose a race as a focus for financial aid. St. Paul’s missed the boat on this one.
My children have been attending St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School for a few years now. It’s a great school. The educational program they offer is perfect, it’s age appropriate, as is the homework they are given and my children participate in both sports and student council which they enjoy. I think parent involvement is important as well and they have plenty of opportunities for us to get involved.
