While I was in their classes, we were able to partake in independent research projects (with checkpoints of course). We went on scientific field trips to study marine biology along with geology. After leaving Hawaii, I moved to Ohio and all sorts of scientific foray’s which I was accustomed to ended. We had a higher level of education in the mainland US but not nearly as inspiring.
Now it’s been about 15 years since attending this school but my thirst for advancing the field of science still exists today. I remember once in third grade we had to do a career project about what we wanted to be when we grew up. I did mine on a scientist, dream fulfilled?
