I am a UMHB Doctorate student. I want to say first of all thank you to the administrators, teachers, staff and students for the privileged to have a tour. I was amazed at the immediate feeling I felt regarding campus climate. It was obvious that the campus is student centered. Often people think student centered means student led…however it was obvious of the teacher’s role in setting the stage and allowing all students to perform. They obviously believed in the students ability to learn and lead. Throughout the tour my colleagues and I observed the staff allowing students to share in decision making processes from basic level opportunities to more serious school related issues. The investment from school staff,students and parents is obvious. The administrators spoke very highly of their parent component and the role they play. Students were extremely involved and from student feedback, students took ownership and the buy in is evident.

Placing students at the center of their own learning requires everyone to collaborate! I was very impressed!

I love this school!
