I wanted to share my experience here to inform other families before coming here that may have a similar child with a disability or any behavioral issues. It could be speech, autism, ADHD, etc… they make it seem that they are able to provide support here or equipped to children who have these issues and are trained to deal with them. This is not accurate information. My son is a toddler with speech impairment and adhd. He is just like any other toddler but just requires that extra direction, affection, and support. This daycare does not have trained staff to be able to work on techniques or tools to help the child. They are suppose to be a school with a schedule, activities throughout the day, and be able to work with children that have all different backgrounds. They have the children run around the classroom all day with barely any involvement maybe 25 minutes out of the entire day you see some sort of participation but that’s it. The staff ignores the kids and these kids are crying out for affection, attention, and engagement. When children cry I’ve seen them been ignored on many occasions and when they have an occasional outburst there is no acknowledgment and support there or reinforcement of good behavior using tools that they are suppose to be trained to do. Instead, they continue to ignore the kid, talk poorly about the kid, and just Simply do not want to put up with the kid. They refused to make any accommodations for him and lie about supporting the kid when in numerous times I’ve seen them ignore my child and do not use there trained tools to support him and they are quick to complain but never once they have said hey we worked on this today and this is how it helped. I noticed when the kids require them to get up and be involved they just kick them out. They use short staff and safety as an excuse versus genuinely coming up with a system to support these kids. Every child that comes here that isn’t even that difficult to handle if they require them to put in any effort from there end they are quick to kick them out. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE. Get them into a facility where there is structured activities empathy and staff that loves kids, and have knowledge on how to handle your child. We’ve came from a wonderful daycare who had loving staff and supportive staff, to leave from that due to distance and to come to a daycare with false hopes. It’s beyond frustrating and disappointing!
This was hard to write as I’ve had many teachers I enjoyed here. Check the recent DCDEE visits on North Carolina childcare when deciding on which daycare to send your child to for citations, and keep a record of everything as management will present a false narrative when the inspectors come to investigate a claim. It’s probably the only reason a portion of our claims were confirmed, due to record keeping when they LOST our child. I didn’t realize how many other parents were also having issues with this daycare, but it’s nice to know we weren’t alone. This daycare has lost some wonderful teachers and children due to poor management and a toxic culture. Please know that many of these five star ratings were left for a chance to win a free week of care, typically after someone shared something negative. I’m so thankful to be at a new daycare that genuinely enjoys my child with regular staffing to form better relationships. This LPA was a terrible experience for our first daycare, especially after the previous manager found a better position. (She was fantastic). We loved so many teachers here, and it’s so sad most of them have left. Poor management can really destroy something great, especially when they don’t take accountability.
