Our family has been a part of the HBHA community for 12 years. The education that my children receive is molded to their needs and gifts. The reason this is possible is due to the small group learning that HBHA provides at all levels of education. The warmth and generosity of spirit in our teachers draws the students in and opens their minds and souls to learning. Since our adoption of project based learning my kids have become even more engaged to the information they are gathering. On top of a great education, HBHA takes pride in developing a students ability to perform in front of an audience starting in Kindergarten. The confidence to speak in public is a skill that ultimately creates an individual who can look someone in the eye and speak to them in a confident, strong manner. I could continue to give you 100 more reasons what differentiates the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy from other schools, but overall you should know that your student attending HBHA is not just a place of education, but it is a family. We are so thrilled to be back in the HBHA community. While we knew how amazing a school it was, spending a year away overseas made us realize just how special this community is. The immense attention to each individual student is unparalleled. Every teacher seems to know every student across all grades and to be constantly customizing each class to meet the individual’s needs, interests, and preferences.

The school also integrates students across grades with its amazing families program. Each new student is added to a school wide group of students and sits with those students as special events and assemblies. This group follows the student through all of the years, serving as a special “family” at school and surrogate siblings.

Finally, another amazing way that the school meets the needs of its children is two different Jewish Studies tracks – one that is more traditional and one that is more pluralistic. This also enables the school to meet each student and each family where they are and teach that student Jewishly in a way consistent with the family’s goals.
