Decent school but the plannings needs to be changed dramatically. There are many examples I’d like to point out but everyone needs to know something about this school. This school has huge property but the fact is that this school is in such a major financial crisis that they frequently use their students as labor. I’ve never come across a school that was this low and they couldn’t afford their own laborers. Lifetime Nutrition class for example used us as labors by taking out the trash and it was so tedious. Another example is Choir’s Madrigal where they make you stay for long hours while being a laborer and that’s not what I came to choir for. Another final example has something to do with the planning aspect and that is when graduation came around. At the auditorium where they tell us what’s going to happen at the Collesium at North Texas University, they didn’t specify that we would be waiting outside for hours in the hot sun in a line while we were wearing heavy clothing and the best part about it is that they could’ve made it more favorable by scooting the inspection inside the Collesium and allowed graduates to sit down while waiting for absolutely everyone to get inside of the Collesium. In fact, one girl fainted from heat stroke because of how bad the planning was. It goes to show the distaste and disrespect of the students. And because of that, I’m changing this rating to a one star.
Typical public education institution with small town mentality, nothing really special offered here.
To our surprise, TCHS so far has been a disappointment.
We were surprised at TCHS because our prior experience was wonderful with the elementary and middle school here and my child excelled in both these establishments.
We thought surely TCHS would be similar since it is the same town, but it is truly like night and day.
The last 2 years at this high school I have come to the conclusion we were just lucky with the middle and elementary schools.
It’s back to the true public educational experience, were the focus is volume & numbers, not the students.
They also have little resources & programs that are designed to prepare a young adult for their future in today’s world.
