Worst Success Academy ever! If your child has a IEP or any type of learning disability, or a disability period dont send them here. The staff will not work with you because they dont want to deal with the process like regular elementary Schools do. The principal, Emily, will suspend a child whose not even in the 1st grade yet several times due to a disability that cant be controled. I felt like because this is her 1st time as a principal of her own School she didnt know how to handle the situation correctly like principals who have years in do, so she just suspends children, causing them to miss out on important education skills & learning. I should have just went with my 1st Success Academy School choice who has a principal that knows what shes doing & has a School thats been opened for years rather then this new School who only caters to perfect children but my child is doing much better now & Im glad I dont have to deal with this School anymore.
Overall the school is good, but kids have to be at school before 7:45 theyre already calling you 7:47 to inform you that your child is late and now your child needs a late pass before she or he can enter classroom. When your child is late they are not allowed to participate in any events for that month / week. This is New York City anything can happen 7:50/7:55 shouldnt be to much to ask for. The kids shouldnt have to suffer for things thats going around in theyre community for being 5-10 mins late. So not only does the guardian that takes the child to school feel bad but the kids upset Also. Ive know many other parents that feels the same exact way it should be at least 5-10 min grace period.
