Advantage Driving School LLC, Manitowoc | Fees, Rankings, Address, Admission, Vacancies, Reviews & More

First of all, take my review with a grain of salt. I have been in the Driver Education field since 2016 after retiring from Law Enforcement. I have had a couple of professional encounters with Advantage and its people. I have been pleased as a person and as a co-professional. I have also heard several great things about them from my contacts in the community. Right now, if my company were to fold, Advantage is probably the only company I would consider joining from a professional standpoint.

That said, in reading the recent reviews I keep hearing complaints about long times between lessons (I presume on the road, Behind-The-Wheel lessons). For what it is worth, folks – don’t start your calls of “unprofessionalism” until you look into things. Definitely thought the Pandemic and after, it is very difficult to find people who are willing to work (PERIOD), little less work as a BTW Instructor in Drivers Ed. Up here in Green Bay we have a larger population from which to recruit from and we have been stuck for a long time due to no one applying or carrying through with applications. Green Bay has lost many companies recently, and as of this review, we are now down to only 2 left. Not only is is hard to find people willing to be driving instructors, only one of the two up here is even holding in-person classes anymore. If you are getting your students in for lessons with only a 6 week wait – consider yourself fortunate. That is just the hard reality of the present “no one wants to work” culture we in the Drivers Ed business are stuck in.

Before you moan about how tough you have it in Manitowoc, first consider yourself blessed that you even HAVE a Driver’s Ed company down there. As a reminder, you have a good 40 minute drive north if you had to come to us. II can assure you also that your pickings up here will not be any better than what you are facing now. If we could even accept your work load from down there, you can bet it would be looking at 8-10 weeks wait.

Maybe you could consider signing up to instruct before you consider criticizing businesses for a worker-less employment environment that is out of their control. And in the meantime, thank Advantage for having been able to stay open and available to you, as well as the good job they do.

Have to use Advanced for everyone in Manitowoc county and they cant even find enough help or “hours” to give the kids the lessons they need. Call to make appointments and are told every time to “wait a few weeks for more hours”. These kids have to do so many lessons before they can go take their drivers test and they can’t even accommodate in time. If this is the only place we can use for lessons, they need to do better at being available. They know how many kids there are in the county schools and are going to need their services. If you weren’t the only place I could go to, I would definitely be going elsewhere. Its been a bad experience from day one! I’m just glad I don’t have another child to have to go through this again.
