Awesome school. Both my kids go there and they’re picking up all kinds of useful life skills. My two year old is the most polite child ever – he says please and thank you. He knows some Spanish. He’s getting potty trained – not quite there yet. And my four year old can write his name and the names of all of his friends, and he’s almost able to read – he spontaneous reads words here and there, but he’s not sitting down reading books to himself yet. The school itself is huge and full of Montessori “work” – it’s a beautiful building with lots of outdoor areas with gardens and chickens and playsets. The only thing that would make this place better is if they provided lunch. I am not a very creative lunch-assembly zombie in the mornings…
Not what are family hoped for. Our 4 year old daughter, now 5 year old, didn’t show any growth the 10 months she spent there. In fact, she showed a regression in her ability to manage her behavior, complete simple tasks and create meaningful work. She started copying behavior of younger children, instead of being a role model for them. There might be some caring teachers there, but our child had a very inexperienced teacher. The parent communication was limited to 1 monthly classroom newsletter, nothing personal about our child’s progress. This school in such a wealthy neighborhood, was not worth the serious amount of money wasted.
