They have moved from several locations to one because they’ve built their own beautiful big purple schoolhouse from the ground up at their Grand location! There are two toddler classrooms, two preschool classrooms, and an infant room. There is a free pantry out front and honeysuckle vines along the fence. The playground has a fun giant wooden train, a garden the kids can take part in, water tables/rock tables (weather depending), a digging area, tires and a large tree limb to climb. The classroom spaces are clean and especially catered to allowing children to find activities that inspire them and are routinely refreshed. The teachers are all well educated in Montessori and wonderfully communicative. The owners and staff are all so kind and attentive. My son has absolutely thrived there! We love the new build and our community here at Peace Tree!
We love Peace Tree! I have a child that’s grown from the infant program all the way to preschool and is thriving there. The teachers are amazing and the curriculum has been so wonderful and helpful to making my child become more independent. I really like the Montessori method they use there. They also have several locations now as they’ve expanded quickly the last few years.

It’s not cheap, but comparable with other Montessori programs in the city. If I’m going to spend my money on something, I think spending it on childhood education is definitely worthwhile. I’d give it 5 stars if they weren’t closed ~5 weeks a year (along w/Portland Public Schools), but that is unfortunately also really common w/the more structured childcare centers in pdx. Otherwise, I highly recommend Peace Tree!
