While my daughter attended this school we have had many issues. My daughter was repeatedly bullied by the same student. This child slapped my daughter in the face, pinched her so hard she made her cry, stabbed her with a spork, and threatened her. This is only some of the many incidents that occurred. After all of this her teacher Mrs. Chernokoff allowed my daughter to be an easy target by allowing them to go to the restroom at the same time. At this time she was targeted twice while in the restroom. Mrs. Ziba has yelled at students and is very rude number of times. If you are working with children you must have patience. I have witnessed staff members cussing and gossiping. I was very shocked to see and hear this going on. When these people are supposed to be setting a good example and being a good romodel. I was told at that they are not always enough staff to keep an eye on the children all the time. If staff members assisted where it was needed there wouldn’t be so many issues. I have met with the principal, staff members, her teacher, dep deputy superintendent and the superintendent. The principal can be very rude. I did not always agree with what she had to say. I went to the district for help. As a parent I have that right to go to whoever I feel I need to go to to protect my daughter. It got to the point where I had to pull her out of school. I attempted to have the other child moved to another class. The superintendent suggested I move her to another class. I don’t feel I should have to do that because of these issues. I felt as if I would be putting my daughter in harms way because her teacher would not respect my request. A child is supposed to go to school and have fun and make friends. Instead there were days she didn’t want to go to school. If these people did their job right I wouldn’t be complaining. I suggested someone go in and speak about bullying. I was told those people were too busy. What ever was being done as discipline was not working. I hope no else has to go through this. What is it going to take for things to change at BJM.
I had Three kids OPEN ENROLLED here. I love the diversity and respect at this school. Everything about it made me happy.
