We are starting our 10th year with GMS. Our daughter attended from the age of 5 until she was 12, and our son (now a 4th grader) started when he was 2. You will not find a more dedicated and loving group of teachers anywhere. They are enthusiastic about educating their students, and work to bring out the best in all of them. They strive to let each child demonstrate their individuality, while ensuring that respect for self, and respect for others, is a top priority. I appreciate that. I also appreciate that the kids are challenged academically. They are introduced to exciting lessons, and encouraged to allow their creativity to help advance their learning process. I encourage every parent who is considering Montessori to check out GMS.
Our two year old started at GMS in the toddler room a year ago and has learned so much! They hold high expectations for their students but are also very nuturing. They have a routine and are expected to follow it daily. At home this leads to regular nap times, taking dishes to the kitchen, pushing in chairs, cleaning up their toys, throwing things away,self guided learning and so much more.When it was time for potty training, they supported our efforts and he was out of diapers and pull ups in three weeks. My son looks forward to school everyday, I feel bad on the weekends when I tell him that there’s no school. I highly recommend GMS!
