FABULOUS when we were there…….of course, I left 6th grade in June 1954 when the neighborhood was tagged “Frankfurt on the Hudson”. Many of my old friends went to PS187 and we remember it fondly………we even had a reunion a few years ago and loved Cynthia Chory……….and the rooms were either the same or larger than our memories………quite unusual. It was our impression that this is an excellent school to this day. Do your due diligence before sending your child, of course.
Diverse *..Grew up in the neighborhood in the 80s back when New York was what you can expect of it. even then, it was still considered to be quote-unquote The Better Neighborhood compared to its neighboring sections of Uptown. Was just up there with the kids- still holding?? its own and better than it was before. I’m in Fort Lee nj?? but if I ever considered coming back to the city this would be a solid choice.
