I went to this school for middle school. I had a great experience with other students and the vibes were great. It is a blessing to be surrounded with students with similar morals and experiences as you. But academically I struggled. I am dyslexic and this school did not have any resources to help me with my dyslexia. In this community, any learning disability is looked down upon and if your kid is struggling with something of some sort the teachers may not even be trained to catch it or identify it. This is a huge issue, especially when a student is young it is very important for issues such as dyslexia to be caught early on so they can be improved. Also, another issue I experienced is no accountability with the way the teachers treated students. Many educators lacked respect for the students and were not held accountable in any way. In our culture, we are taught to have respect for our elders, but our respect towards them was taken advantage of by many of the faculty. Lastly, because the school is so small everyone kinda knew everything and drama was a huge issue. Though, it is an issue in every school it was times 10 at this one because it is really small and everyone is part of the same community. Everyone will know your business and most probably air it out to the rest of the school. Overall, CPSA was a good school and I am glad I experienced it. I did gain a lot of my Islamic knowledge from them and still continue to practice and implement some of the things Ive learned alhamdulliah.
Sending our kids to CPSA has been, hands down, the best decision we could have made for them as parents. The school has really made immense strides in keeping up with their motto to provide academic excellence in an Islamic environment. More over, they are doing so by keeping up with the times and addressing concerns head on. If I have a concern or need clarification, I can write an email to the teacher, vice principal or principal and expect a quick turnaround time. Meeting with admin? Easy. Concerns about teaching methods? Teachers are ready to partner with you to find what best works for your child.
The fact of the matter is that this school is the right fit for our children and our family and we are grateful for such an institution in our neighborhood. While tarbiyat begins at home, CPSA is a wonderful partner in helping us drive those same values and traditions and we feel blessed to be here.
