We are fairly new to Jiu Jitsu and Paul does an excellent job of breaking down a very complex sport. His passion is very evident and he treats everyone with equal respect. As a woman it can be very intimidating but Paul is an experienced teacher and his wife Brandi is the perfect bonus every gym needs. Both Paul and Brandi are humble enough to not smash you, which makes them great rolling partners and even better teachers.

We have 5 children, 4 of whom train with Paul. They fell in love with Paul and his way of teaching before they fell in love with Jiu Jitsu. They love learning from him and all the kids know that he cares about that them. My boys are smaller for their age and Paul has been a great role model for them, size isn’t everything, which is obvious after watching Paul roll.

My daughter is a pretty timid person and Jiu Jitsu has been a great place for her to learn that she can be confident and stand behind what she has to say. I’m grateful for the support and guidance that Paul has given to my children, an added bonus The Base provides. Jiu Jitsu isn’t just a sport for Paul it’s a way of life.
