Our experience at Laniakea Montessori has been exceptional. First and foremost, the teachers foster a community of compassion and respect among the children. They are quick to communicate with parents – weekly class information, child performance, or any other information needing our attention, and are happy to work together as a parent-teacher team if the need arises. Our child learns among a culturally and developmentally diverse class, and greatly benefits from the mixture of lived experiences. We’ve been able to witness other children coaching our child, and our child helping others. In addition to developing our child as a conscientious person, Laniakea’s teachers create a sense of curiosity about the world. Our 3-year-old comes home to tell us exciting information about other continents, the composition of Earth, what they planted in their garden, or how to greet people in other languages. We’ve watched our child’s confidence, knowledge, independence, and interpersonal skills blossom under the guidance of the Laniakea family. We highly recommend Laniakea Montessori to other parents seeking a well-rounded and compassionate learning environment for their child.

Our grandson is a student at Laniakea Montessori School. He started at the school when he was 3 years old. Laniakea provides a well-organized, inviting, and nurturing environment where children can grow, flourish, and excel academically and socially. The teachers are caring and encouraging, and have been very sensitive and accommodating to the needs of a younger child including making special arrangements for nap time and providing a little extra one-on-one attention and encouragement when needed. The curriculum is true to the Montessori principals, providing an excellent balance of academic learning and play time while encouraging social development and friendships. The teachers make wonderful use of hands-on learning experiences, including art, nature studies, picnics, gardening, and special projects in the on-site Science Room. Overall, our grandson loves Laniakea and his teachers, looks forward to going to school every day, and we couldn’t be more pleased.
