When we first began this journey, we did not know what to expect. A new school, new teachers, new friends, and new experiences. Upper Elementary has exceeded our expectations! Not only have we seen our son progress academically, but emotionally as well. He feels secure here, and happy about school. We see a spark, fire in his eyes, and yes, even more confidence. This is because of the Upper Elementary team. You speak positively to him, give him opportunities he would have never received, you give him choices, encourage him, challenge him, and believe in him. We cannot express our sincere gratitude enough, and there is no amount of money that can express our admiration for you all. You all accept our son for who he is and see the potential of what he can become. Plato said, “The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life.” Upper Elementary team, because of you all, we are confident that our son’s future is brighter than anyone could ever imagine.
I have seen many 2nd graders that attended here and one thing they all had in common was their confidence in being able to talk about themselves to adults without behaviors that indicated shyness. I love the independence this showed in a 7-8 year old that I wanted this for my child. My child started the summer program at the Little House 2021. He was too old for naps at school and they decided that he and another child who was in the same situation would go visit the next class up or play outside. Naps seemed to be attempted but never forced. In the fall he started the next class and he has been growing, happy, and thriving ever since. I cannot be happier.
