Some of the beds were broken or not working properly. We did not have any grippy socks for use. Lifts did not work. Missing alcohol pads. The soap looks very old as the oil and soap have separated. I’m not sure if the place is cleaned since the toilets are dirty looking (picture below) and nothing seems vacuumed.
Another con was if you had a death in the family they will not allow you to reschedule your classes, you will have to drop and lose out on money. Which I feel like is a double standard, since one of the instructors had a death in their family and was able to leave.
Our online instructor, Lindsey, was great and organized. She answered our questions, guided us when we needed help and sent us reminders to complete online work. Our in person instructor was very nice but did not seem to know what we already learned online. We would rewatch videos of cares we already watched online. She was very helpful with answering our questions or finding out the answers for us. I’m not sure if it was the communication between instructors or the program but it did not seem like they knew what the other instructor was teaching us.
I would have preferred to take the online part for the first half and then the skills in the second half. It would have been less stressful since I was trying to complete online work during skills days. My schedule was a mix of in person and online throughout the weeks.
$650 for the class, I would expect better. I recommend taking the CNA class at Western Technical College for $500. I took it there before and had to renew my license since it’s been a while. The only reason why I didn’t take it at Western was because I needed an accelerated class and Western’s Program is a semester long.
I did pass both my written and skills exams. I got my results the day of after I took each exam. I now have my CNA license and work as a CNA in a nursing home. Overall the accelerated class helped me immensely and I did everything in one month’s time.
