I am overdue in writing this review but, really wanted to express my appreciation for this wonderful center! I started my son here when he was almost two and now that he is almost three, I can’t imagine taking him anywhere else. When we started, my son was speech delayed and a little behind in some other areas. Thanks in part to DI’s strong leadership, enriching curriculum, and their dedicated and attentive teachers my son is absolutely thriving!! Every day he comes home with a new skill. The other day he identified an octagon. I didn’t teach him that one!
I find myself in awe of how far he has come in just under a year. He will pay attention for long stretches of time, he uses his listening ears and follows rules!! There is no better feeling in the world than seeing your child thrive under the loving care of professionals. I thought about singling out the teachers that have really impacted my child’s growth but, I quickly realized, it’s all of them. From the Director, Melinda, (who amazingly knows every detail about every child there!) to every teacher at the center, each has helped him become the best version of himself. Without a doubt, I know that they care about the well being of my kid, that they genuinely care about him and want the absolute best for him. Discovery Isle Oceanside is a godsend!!

Not organized. No ones on the same page. I was told pick up was at 12:30 and I picked my son up at that time for two weeks and nobody said anything and when I came to pick him up he was pulled out of his class because the other children were napping and he was with the front desk lady with pants on that he peed in and there was an extra change of clothes in his cubby and that’s when I was finally told pick up was actually at 12. Also, drop off is at 8:30 and the front desk lady told me they switch to their actual room at 8:30 but come to find out they switch from there free for all playroom at 9. So I’m paying 500 a month for what exactly? Daycare or preschool? I was told it was preschool but it’s definitely a overpriced daycare. Lastly, they are under staffed and they pull teachers from other places to make sure they don’t go over the legal ratio of children to teacher. So you meet two teachers that you think your child will be with be that’s not what happens. Not to mention that when your drop them off in the holding room pretty much the teach you met is usually not there it is to other adults you don’t know. I would encourage anyone who’s thinking about or currently attending this school, stop in and view a class to make sure that everything is as advertised because for me it certainly was not for me.
