i decided to write this review because this is just ridiculous. i thought i was the only parent that went through this but I’ve come to find out that that’s not the case at all.

i am a surgeon at the University of Miami Hospital and my husband is a therapist.
we moved here a little over a year ago and i was looking around for good schools for my son and my daughter who are far apart in age. he was in kindergarten and she was heading to high school.
A friend told me about this school in particular because her daughter was attending at the time so myself and my husband went and checked it out and my son liked it so we decided to send him there.

To make a long story short the first day i was rubbed the wrong way by a teacher by the name of Shereen Reid who was gonna be teaching my son. I was caught off guard but i let it go because i said people have have bad days and in my line of work i know all about people and they’re “bad days”.
i thought i was the only one she had a bad day with but from speaking to other parents and staff members i am starting to realize that this is a trend with her. A few weeks later there was a meeting at his school and i was working late so i asked my husband if he would attend in my absence and he agreed. after the meeting my husband came home and told me she was flirting with him and said that my son “extra help” and that she made him uncomfortable. I let it slide because in my head i was saying it couldn’t be that big of a deal because i know my husband can be a bit dramatic at times. i kept it to myself and went on about our regular day to day activities.

3 weeks later a fellow parent who i met on the first day of school and we exchanged numbers because it was her daughters first day as well calls me to say that she has the same problem with Ms.Reid inviting out her husband for dinner to “talk” about his daughter and that’s when i started to look into the matter further. this woman is a pain in the royal butt. shes rude, insulting and dresses like a street walker with a horrible weave and not only that my son didn’t like her anyways so we ended up moving him to another school.
I would never recommend this school to anyone because though i don’t mind spending the money I don”t think it was worth it because my child did not benefit from me spending it.

this woman needs to be put in her place because not every parent is gonna be as lady like to not slap her the next time she does it. she needs to be more attentive to her students and less to peoples husbands. i spoke to her fellow staff members who say the same thing.
i am by no means trying to bad mouth another woman but i call it like i see it and she needs to either go or there should be some kind of code of conduct put into place because that is just a no no in my book.

teachers reflect what a school is about and standards and right now its not looking to good for Norwood Elementary School. Principal Kevin Williams and Assistant Principal Collette Richardson needs to take a look at this situation because it does not reflect well on your school.

Ms.Reid i hope you see this review and learn something because whatever your doing is not working in your favor as a teacher or as a woman.

I hope this was helpful.

I am quite disappointed with the way my sons situation is being handled..i was told my son could possibly be retained and i dont feel like enough was done by his teacher to prevent it…i can only do so much at home but his teacher could put more effort to work with me as a team to get him to where he needed to be. My sons teacher is a winner for teacher of the year but i dont see her doing teacher of the year things when it comes to my son. Some kids need more than others. She wont even check ti make sure he had his homework to bring home everyday.
