This school is honestly a hit or miss, some teachers teach good, while others not so much and just kind of throw things at you, teachers and other staff pick favorites and are either nice to you and respectful, or rude and are always side eying you the whole year, front desk were particularly very rude when I was there, so rude that parents made a group chat taking about how rude they are and things that could be a lot better. I got sick one day in class and went to the front office to call my dad, Ms. Rashawn decided it would be a good idea to take my phone and not let me call my dad and waited for an hour until my dad came to the school in person, even after speaking with my dad and having him tell her to call my doctor she still refused to let me do that, she didn’t listen to me or my father. A very disappointing experience with a very rude person. And that’s just the first bad experience out of many many more with staff and teachers alike, I’ll leave the rest to you all currently attending in 2022, but I graduated and what’s done is done, not a good impression for a school but good luck to all of the rest of you!
My son started at the groundbreaking PUBLIC secondary Montessori school in his 7th grade year and just started 9th grade this year. We could not be more thankful for this school! The program offers a diverse array of unique opportunities for its students, such as Neurobiology, a class that my son is taking this year which focuses on the adolescent brain, and others such as sustainable agriculture! The sense of community is very strong, and the teachers and staff are extremely passionate and aware of the wide range of challenges that adolescents today face. A new school to the Charlotte area, yes, but an amazing one and one that we are so lucky to have!
