Thurman Francis is a really good school, but what they did when I attended the school was just unfair. I am an 8th grader now but when I was in the forth grade I was trying to get to the magnet program. This one girl had completely failed the grade and was in put into the magnet program because her mom was apart of the facility. I found that really unfair as and African American young girl trying to get into the magnet program and a white girl gets into it since her mom worked there even though she failed the grade. And when I was there I realized that I was much smarter than most of the kids in magnet and I found it completely ridiculous. My little brother attends the school now and he is trying to get into the magnet program also, I just hope he doesn’t get treated with the same unfairness I was treated with when it came to my education.
Both of my boys have gone to TFAA since kindergarten and I absolutely love it. The teachers push the kids to do their best but do not criticize them when they do not achieve what is expected. They work with them to help them and communicate with the parents. It like a large family with everyone looking out for the children. I appreciate the love and support my boys get from all the teachers and staff and will miss that when they go to high school. Thank you TFAA for all you do!
