The student cutting my hair cut the top length to the length I wanted and it was all going well until the older Korean lady instructor came around to check on the student. Without asking me how I wanted my hair cut, she took the scissors and cut off 2-3 inches from the already trimmed hair and assumed I would like it because of my Korean heritage. I can understand Korean well enough to know what the instructor was talking about, and to me it seemed like she was a know it all. She yelled at her student several times even though the student had satisfied my request for how I would like my hair cut. No doubt the instructor was good at cutting hair, but she failed to listen to her student tell her how I wanted my hair cut nor did she ask me what I wanted before cutting more. That wasn’t my first time at the hair school, but the instructors before were way better at teaching the students and they did not fail to ask me how I wanted my hair cut. I recommend if you go in and see a older Korean lady instructor to go somewhere else or go some other time, because you will end up having the cut you didn’t want or no hair. For me it was both, but if you want a buzz cut she’s the right person to go to.
After having a hair bleach gone wrong and my hair ends becoming very brittle and dry; took my chances and went to this place for the first time. I was assigned to Lennie to cut my hair and she did an excellent job. She was very attentive to my concerns and requests and she shared her own suggestions based on the state of my hair. She understood I didn’t want to trim too much, and built a trusting relationship that I decided to trust her recommendations. Throughout the process, she educated me on how to care for my hair and achieve to a healthier state. She was very knowledgeable. Once she finished cutting and blowdrying, even tho my hair was shorter, I was amazed at the results and layers she gave me. Going to this place and having a great person like Lennie made my entire day, mind you I was having a very bad hair day. I will most definitely go back and recommend this place.
Side note: if you go, know that they are students but have an instructor around.
