Not a really informative review jenn. Baker is a get what you put in type of institution. Sometimes I feel as if they do carry dead weight. And sometimes the Professors(online) seem to want to over compensate the workload to better compare to on-campus classes. That being said, they provide pretty good resources, at least from a software and networking point of view. The key that I am learning now in my second year is that in order to really learn, you have to want to and need to put in your own time on learning outside the curriculum. I can only speak for my program but it’s nice to know that I am being taught by working professionals in the field they are teaching. If they are not all MIT graduates, at least they are competent..for the most part. The key to success is to take responsibility for your education. Let’s hope I can finish strong and walk the talk. I give them a 3/5 mainly due to facilities. While they have the essentials, it’s not some big University with all the amenities. This is definitely a barebones school; Library, Student Lounge, Store, ATM, Picnic Tables, Bookstore, Computer Lab, Internet Kiosk. Thats about it. I am 14 credits from my Associate Degree and am likely to continue on for my Bachelor’s.
Prices are certainly higher than SC4, but I believe well worth it. The staff all seem be genuinely concerned with the success of the students and Baker’s success rates (job placement in a field relating to the discipline studied) are impressive.
