When COVID hit in March of 2020, I was beyond impressed at how fast the administration and teachers came together to shift to remote learning – a total of 3 days turn-around time (it was incredible). I do not feel like my boys have lagged at all in their studies AND they were still able to socialize with their friends in online settings.
The true test came at the new SEPT 2020 school year with the whole process of how to return to school (led by the new Principal Jen Kowieski and a very robust re-opening committee). It was INCREDIBLE – the thoughtfulness of how teachers concerns and parents concerns were brought to the forefront and addressed was amazing, and the final result has been a full return to school for those that feel comfortable and a month to month remote learning option for those that may be at risk and cannot be in person. The safety protocols have been top notch, the communications transparent/consistent and the broader community aligned and dedicated to the safety of our diverse student body.
My husband and I cannot say enough about how much we love this school experience for our children – if you are exploring education options for your own children (St. Cols has Pre-K through 8th grade) please take a look, you may just find the perfect educational match!
