I really can’t say that I feel all that great about this school thus far. It would be very nice to have some sort of orientation for all brand new students and parents coming into the institution as to the way some of the systems function. The experience that I had on the carpooling drop off/pick up line this afternoon left much to be desired. I was put in my place regarding the flow of cars after receiving a completely different set of instructions by the crossing guard just three days prior. Needless to say, I wasn’t even asked any questions. To make the long story short, let me just say to the staff and administration that there is a right and wrong way to deal with all matters and it SHOULD be done without having to be rude or condescending in any form or fashion. Proper communication is key. However, it appears that in today’s world mutual respect is not a reciprocal characteristic anymore.
when i first went to this school, i was in first grade and was not told whatsoever where to go. i transferred in the middle of the school year and nobody had informed me or my older sister who was in 4th grade where to go. my sister was taken by another girl her age to her class and me being clueless followed her. i went to the bathroom and came out only to find the hallways empty except another girl my sisters age who asked me where i was supposed to be. i did not know obviously and was. thought to the principals who asked me to choose which class i wanted. as a first grader who transferred, i should have already had a class and should not have been given the choice to choose. i felt in the way and like j wasn’t supposed to be there. my sister was very social and had a fine experience, i however did not have a very good first grade year
