The school has its pros and cons. One of the pros is that they have a variety of academies/programs that can benefit a student that really wants to be successful in life. One of the cons is probably that the security is very biased, for example if they see two students cutting class in the hallways they will send the student that they are not familiar with to the detention center while the student that you can say they are friends with, that student just leaves with a warning. It does not matter if the student has the highest HSA or SAT scores in the school if you are not familiar with the security they will single you out no matter what, I say this from experience, I am a senior and I have been in ROTC for my entire high school years. The principle recognizes me because I am always doing the right thing and I go/help out to every event that happens in the school, but since I do not communicate with the security guards, when I am doing some errands for the schools administrators like getting teachers signature since I really have nothing to do and I like to help out. Even though I may have a pass they treat me like If I am a bad person. I know they are doing they’re jobs but when the same person that is ushering all these events and helping set-up/clean-up, doing paperwork for the school, helping the principle, teaching an ROTC class, and is always doing the right thing they should stop been biased and stop making friends with the actual people that are the troublemakers and actually treat everyone equally. But that is just my opinion. The school is good. The students are not really that good. The security needs to stop been biased. The administration team is really great. The sports are kinda biased to but not as much. Either way I could recommend this school if you really do not have another choice.
I liked my school Bladensburg High School that is in my hometown Bladensburg, Maryland where all myself Deonte Lamar Merritt is from and the burgundy uniforms that I was wearing like everybody else I use to go there in 2006 to 2008 which was my first year and day there I never did my work sometimes a lot I would have grades like D’S one C’s and E always rushed for lunch time in the cafeteria where vending machine was so many long stairs and floors had different colors of lockers I come all the time those was the days trying out track and field practice after school but I didn’t make it into the competition or finals nothing but memories there but I like it even though it is my Hometown high school I left in 2008 but I got my Diploma from there after graduated in The Pathways Schools which is a good thing. I think they said one of my old teachers like Mrs. Toy was great My mom here to old Bladensburg High on 56th Avenue and Tilden road she pregnant me as a student there had months later on my date of birth October 26, 1991 I was born after she graduated on June 1, 1991 I love myself I love my mom but until that changed in the same area into a football field moved the entrance to 47 avenue I love United States of America.
