I do not recommend anyone pursuing a career in aviation waste their time with the av center. After rescheduling my discovery flight twice I finally got to fly a month after initial scheduling with them due to weather. Patiently waited and loved flying. Got back to hanger and inquired about signing up for flight lessons. Was told they are not taking students till end of March. I asked to sign up and they told me they don’t have a waiting list only the person that bugs them most will be taken on next. I even was going to pay half down and told by Christine and Joel that doesn’t matter they still wouldn’t sign me up. Showed up a half hour early to fly to get info on their program and the receptionist just wanted to tell stories about her cat and life. These guys could care less about anyone serious about flying. They say they have 2 cesenas for training but 1 is down and don’t know when it will be fixed. I feel sorry for the students they claim are already training through them as they are having their time wasted. They seem to have plenty of time available for discovery flights but take 4-6 months to get someone their ppl which is way excessive. Maybe you all should focus on your students and quit wasting peoples time on discovery flights that go nowhere! Do not waste your time with this fly by night “school”
I just want start out with I work for a local company on the field. I have pretty high interests into getting into flying. I reschedule with avcenter 3 times. First time was weather. OK that’s fine. Second time they said it was weather, but I happened to be working that day and it was clear sky’s with little wind. Third time they canceled for maintenance on the plane, however when I would look on ads-b(flight tracker) they would be flying the plane around. I do not recommend avcenter whatsoever. Christine was awful to work with and very hard to get a hold of. When planning for flights it was always botched together. Some important worrying things said where; “It looks like he is open here but I don’t really know” We can just put you down for this day and hope he has time that day.” Edit: They did make it right with me. Joel was very good to work with. He had lots of really interesting knowledge and walked me through everything. He awnsered any questions I had and made sure before any maneuver to make sure I was OK with it. Plane was clean on the inside and flew like a champ.
