Flexibility! We started WCA in 2018 and love it! We love the flexibility that CA offers – work ahead on school lessons, work early in the morning or late in the evening, if you have a week day commitment and you want to work on lessons over the weekend – you can. (Note – Student can get behind on lessons up to two weeks.)

Courses are nicely structured on the student’s planner each school day. Parents/Care Giver (Learning Coaches) work through lessons with their child (younger grades) while as children increase grade levels, they can work through lessons independently.
(Our family has personally chosen to work through lessons with our children through Elementary level… While some families may feel comfortable with their Elementary student working more independently.)
Once the student completes a lesson – they can mark it complete. ? I personally like the organized daily course check list.

ONE (LL) live lesson (virtual class with Teacher) is required per week.

WCA offers 3-4 options per grade level (speaking for Elementary) throughout the week that include morning and afternoon hours. Student can attend all LL, but only are required one.

WCA Teachers are a fantastic resource and support. Students will meet in LL one-on-one with the assigned Teacher approximately once per month or once every 3 weeks. Teachers/staff are a phone call or email away.

WCA is a state wide – virtual charter public school… Free…
You will have access/option to have a school provided laptop.
CA will send you a box of all the needed curriculum. Text books will need to be returned at the end of the school year. CA provides shipping labels for returning items – no cost to families. This was important to our family, we pay taxes for our local school district and hubby didn’t want to pay additional monies for curriculum, etc… We don’t pay anything for our children to attend WCA.

We love WCA! There are many school options out there, I hope you find a school that’s best for your individual families!

My children were enrolled to attend WCA (Wisconsin Connections academy) starting 2nd semester 2021-2022 school year with the hopes they would graduate from here, but this unfortunately did not happen. The first semester was a bit stressful for our children and we endured several red flags that mad us uneasy. My husband and I pulled our children after just two weeks into this new school year 2022-2023 when we noticed things were not getting better. The experience was not good. The main reason for the low rating is the teachers were very out of touch there was no diversity with the staff. The children were on schedules as if they were in a brick and Mordor building instead of being able to learn at their own pace which is why we choose this type of education. They were expected to attend at least two live lesson per week (which is fine) but it was recommended that they attend live lessons each class every week. They forced my 12th grader to take a full course load that was not needed because she was just 3 credit shy or graduation requirements. These are just a few issues.
