I have 4 children enrolled in FPA for the 2nd year in a row. We have experienced grades 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Pros: the majority of teachers and students are amazing. Because of this fact alone we have entered a second year at FPA.

Cons:
1) The majority of the administration that we have experienced is absolutely unreasonable. We’ve especially had problems with the lady who is in charge of the elementary portion of the school. She dismisses our complaints and fights us, as the parents, in every way possible. At her suggestion, and my agreement, we have finally refused to discuss any topic with one another, and I have gotten more reasonable results addressing my concerns with Dr Duke Pesta, who is the head of the school.

2) The math curriculum claims to not be common core, but it is downright confusing! My child has struggled with it in 1st grade, and I had to supplement it during summer break to catch him up to his class. He was doing very well in the summer, and exceeded the level of his classmates. But within 8 weeks of class beginning again, we were back to the same struggle of confusion, hour-long lessons in tears, and frustration. So, during the first semester, I told his teacher and the administration that my son would no longer be completing any of his math work in school. Rather I teach him math at home with a different curriculum. My 3 older children have not struggled in the same way with math, mainly because when they entered FPA they were already several grade levels ahead in math. So, if the work doesn’t have to be turned in, I often don’t require them to complete it. They do another math curriculum “just for fun” but the FPA math has never been a “fun” math for them.

3) FPA claims the homework load is 2 hours a day, which is simply not true. At times, my children have been given 5-6 hours of homework in one day. I’ve gotten to the point that I prioritize the work my children are given and only require them to work on it for 2 hours a day. After that, they are free to continue with their day.

Overall, we are not happy with this school and other than our love for one particular teacher and how she manages her class, we probably will not send any of our children back to FPA next year.

I have had the privilege of being associated with Freedom Project Academy (FPA) for the past seven years, ever since I first discovered Dr. Duke Pesta on YouTube. The impact on my son’s education has been nothing short of transformative, and I am compelled to share my positive experience.

Under the guidance of FPA, my son has demonstrated remarkable academic progress, and I attribute his success to the school’s unwavering commitment to providing a comprehensive education that prioritizes critical thinking over conformism. FPA’s curriculum places a strong emphasis on essential subjects such as Un-Common Core Math, Proper English, Proper Science, and a Correct History of America and not allowing canel culture to take over education.

One of the distinguishing features of FPA is its focus on cultivating independent thinkers and leaders. The school encourages students to think for themselves, fostering an environment that values common sense over rigid adherence to common core principles. This approach has undoubtedly contributed to my son’s academic achievements and his development as a capable and thoughtful individual.

As my son prepares to graduate this year, I am proud to highlight that he has consistently maintained an impressive academic record, earning the designation of an A student since the previous academic year. This success is a testament to the effectiveness of FPA’s educational approach.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse Freedom Project Academy to any parent who is genuinely concerned about their child’s education and desires an environment that promotes free thinking, sharp deductive reasoning, and equips students for success as they navigate the challenges of the world beyond the classroom.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for further details about how FPA helped my son. This is NOT a paid endorsement, just a very proud parent of a very intelligent son thanks to FPA’s efforts.
