They are more concerned with making money than anything else. I would often travel over an hour to get there and be told that the lecturer wasn’t there today and we should watch certain YouTube videos instead. Very poorly run organisation, huge waste of time and money.
I changed my mind, isn’t a good place for study. The best place is Royal academy of music in London. Over here you study by yourself and tutors only gives you guide line but no help. This is not what I expected from a institution like this. Needs more engagement with students and explicit practices. If you want to choose a musical school think twice where you investe the money. Ain’t worthy.
If your son or daughter is anticipating progressing from what has been a successful path in the music world up to this stage ! “Run for the hills”as all the reviews on many site of students and employees state this place is ” TOXIC” and only suitable if your “face fits”!! So check “indeed & trustpilot ” out and ask yourself does your face fit?? It’s a risk going here that could destroy all the hard work, talent and confidence you at present have. I would reconsider and compare thoroughly other options such as LCM or a larger Uni after what I saw of my sons time here and the negative effect it had. You have a choice to make, please make it wisely!
Not to mention you pay this organisation for the pleasure!!

On graduation day one of the lecturers addressed his students on screen in front of all graduates and families/ friends with quote” good luck and don’t get in the way of my money”
Says it all really!

Don’t go here unless you wanna do the business or production course , such a waste of money. Absolutely no help for mental health or learning disability’s . Went to talk to there mental welfare department and literally just got told to go have a cup of tea, have a shower and go for a run after I told them I was struggling.
After numerous attempts to talk to them about learning disability’s I received nothing but an automated email to tell them they would be replying in 20 something days… they did not.
When I told the uni I was thinking of deferring I just got met with “oh I’m sorry your leaving” no effort was made to try and convince me to stay or ask me why and what reasons I wanted to leave ( to me it just seems like there just like well the next money is gonna spend money here so byeeeeee)
Spent my first lecture blowing into a straw to make wind to move a tissue , should have been a massive red flag .
Due to lack of attendance ( due to mental things ) I got put on what is called stage 2 academic warning , I set up a zoom call with a tutor who I won’t name as they were very helpful at times, to ask about what this mean … I was met with a ” I don’t know what that means , never really heard of it ” . I then continued to revive no further help with anything .
I don’t reccomend going , look at BIMM or water bear in Brighton, just don’t go to Acm
DON’T BE FOOLED! From the outside it looks like an amazing university, but from my experience it couldn’t have been further from that. I had various mental breakdowns and was so incredibly disappointed and mad at the lack of support given during covid. NOT WORTH THE MONEY, aside from a few teachers who I will always be thankful for, I wouldn’t recommend this university to anyone!
