I was educated at Acorn for twelve years and I had a fantastic experience. Not only did I learn all the things one is supposed to learn at school, I also learnt many practical skills from building to climbing, sewing to travelling. I was supported by my teachers the whole way through and thanks to them I have a place to study creative arts at university. The current Co-headmasters are two of the strongest and kindest people I know, and I would highly recommend the school to anyone looking for an education that teaches students about life as well as academia.
The Acorn School has given me the ability to not grow out of being creative, the ability to navigate a mountain, to surf, and to rock climb. The school’s curriculum gave me a full understanding of both science and the arts and has provided me with all the knowledge and support I need to move out into the world.
What an amazing school. Acorn gave me the platform to further my education at university. The school provided a different approach to teaching, allowing the opportunity for individual growth and development. (I won’t be forgetting the incredible outdoor adventure trips anytime soon!)
I was lucky enough to be educated at The Acorn School for more than 8 years. Their broad curriculum gave me a strong foundation in both creative and academic subjects, alongside the fantastic trips and outdoor activities.
I’ve been a parent at the school for the past 14 years. The Acorn is unique in so many ways. Best summary of it is comes from an article the BBC wrote on the school a few years ago which they titled “The School That Becomes A Family”. That says it all.
