I was determined to pursue a career in architecture in the UK, having no previous experience of Art & Design, and with a limited command of English Language – embracing every opportunity to participate in new things – whether it was tennis or regular current affairs debates and quizzing competitions. I have improved my IELTS scores, developed critical thinking and completed my Art & Design portfolio within a year and was accepted by Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London – one of the oldest and best schools of architecture in the world.
I have been working with the college as an education agent for the last 5 years. The students and parents are really grateful for the college for excellent tuition, professional welfare support as well as the first class accommodation and well rounded extracurricular programme. The college provides the full year A-level and GCSE programme, short term Easter and Summer programmes. The main advantage of the College is the academic progression of the students to the top UK Universities due to individual tutorials. The Administration and the staff are highly professional and provide timely support for the students both with their studies as well as enrichment and sport activities.
Background: I attended Cherwell College Oxford to retake my A-levels in 2016. I was a full-time boarder.

My overall impressions:

Teaching: The teaching is 1:1 which is amazing. It means that the tutors will repeat everything as many times as you like. This ensures that you can identify and cover any gaps in knowledge that you may have. The tutors are highly qualified and they help give you a wider understanding of the subject which I have appreciated particularly now during University. The tutors are passionate about their subjects. Each student has a personalised timetable and the college is very accommodating to change the timetable in events of illness etc.

Accommodation: The accommodation was absolutely beautiful. It it a newly-built building that truly serves its purpose. It is modern and clean, with incredibly friendly cleaning staff and also lovely security guards. Each boarder has their own room and an en suite bathroom, allowing for privacy and personal cleanliness. The male and female bedrooms are on separate floors, ensuring that students feel comfortable. Boarding truly makes focusing on studies easier and I would highly recommend it. Although the accommodation is next to the train station, rest assured, it has great sound proofing.

Stephen (Headmaster): Stephen is always available for advice. He provides personal statement advice for each individual student. He always makes a point to be available in the common room area for a chat throughout the day and is particularly kind and empathetic towards the stressful exam season. He has great knowledge of the university application process and how to approach your studies.

Helen (Deputy Headmistress): Helen has been absolutely wonderful. She is always somebody that you can speak to 24/7 and will do anything she can to resolve any issues you may have. She is always smiling and is there every morning to brief the students.

Welfare (Sayantani): Sayantani really cares about the students. She tried very hard to organise events for the students in the areas that interested them the most. She is somebody that you can speak to about any issues that you may have and is eager to help students develop a well-rounded education. Welfare encouraged me to help with the college newsletter and the science club which was a large asset to have on my personal statement.

Improvements: I would have liked to have a wider range of vegetarian food available for students at the time. Although, this may have already been resolved.

Generally high quality of teaching; the school is located in the city center and can grasp a nice view of Oxford on the balcony. The welfare helped me a lot during my university application.
The welfare staff have been excellent in the boarding facility.
