I am a parent of two boys that attend this school
Historically at our children’s primary school we had had huge concerns with the pastoral side of their education. When chosing a high school we gave a lot of consideration not only for the quality of education on offer but also the strong social and moral guidance to its pupils

My children have been at Wirral now for a number of years , we had the option of other Grammar Schools on the Wirral . At Wirral Grammar we have felt included and involved in our children’s education , above all else our children enjoy being part of Wirral Grammar and enjoy the supportive and caring learning environment it offers.

Staff have kept us placed at all times over issues that arise during our children’s time at school, and when the school have had to act they have done so swiftly fairly and appropriately , I cannot recommend the school highly enough and would have no hesitation in recommending the school if asked for an opinion

I find that Wirral Grammar School For Boys has allowed me to prepare for the adult world alot more and I am only 12yrs old. Not only with work but also with organization and maturity. This school is perfect and I can see myself having alot of great memories and moments at this school. And to those who gave this school a 1 star. Just shut up. Most of you have not experienced this school from the inside but have rated it negatively out of stupidity or 1 moment that shouldn’t affect your impression of the entirety of this school as a whole along with the students.
Portray themselves as a leader in education at High/Grammar School level with unique teaching methods designed specifically for boys. In my opinion they are no better than any other High school. Zero constructive communication with parents throughout the years, pupils grades jumping from each end of the spectrum throughout the year but no structured plan to address this and/or advise parents of progress good or bad prior to parents evenings. Your’e basically on your own and it’s down to the pupil only to make changes e.g. go on line and study extra that’s what the internet’s for. Whilst this approach can be acceptable I did expect a Grammar School to go that extra yard and care about every individual and nurture them with the parents help. In my opinion the school regime is being full of their own self importance and still trying to live on the grammar school values that once set them apart but are sadly now non existent. Teachers are obviously employed as like any High School would and not selected from the creme de la creme proving there are no higher standards for this Grammar and this is quite apparent. My son passed all his GCSEs 4/C and above however I was alarmed at the number who failed subjects such as English, how does a Grammar demanding 11+ qualifiers manage to fail pupils who themselves have proved to be intelligent at a young starting age? My step children attended The Catholic High in Ellesmere Port and on results day the personal care from the staff to check individual grades, knowing each pupils abilities and advise if
re-grading should happen (on both occasions they were right changing C’s to A’s and B’s) No such support from Wirral Grammar, I have since found out myself my son was 3 points off a 5 in one subject. This was established by speaking to one helpful teacher through the window of a classroom when I drove there for help as no one answered any phones when I rang and the relevant staff were off on holiday for the week (the most important week for further education enrolment) had I not been tenacious my son would have missed out on his desired A Levels at a local college, the staff on results day didn’t even enquire as to my sons aspirations and offer him advice, very impersonal and a somewhat stuck up approach. I always got the feeling over the last 5 years that if you weren’t a straight A student then you were lucky to be there.
I wouldn’t say this is a bad school but I can’t say it’s a good school either, definitely no better than the High School in Ellesmere Port my niece attended and left this year.
Very unimpressed with Wirral Grammar, they are no different and no better than a High School and I wish I had never sent my son there.
As I was walking home the boys were running the cross country and wouldn’t move out the way . I had to move which was difficult when there was so many .I’m my opinion if that was an old person they would of just bumped into them ! I’m disgusted as I also heard foul language off them . I alrsasy feel anxious walking home dont need a load of if lads come charging towards me .
Decent i guess, dont really like it tho, teachers are annoyin, especially covers, mrs thomas etc
