I picked Sarum College on its location, you can literally see the cathedral from your window, and everything if interest is in easy walking distance.||Booking was done my phone, and received a helpful conformation email with all the details.||My first challenge was my car sat nav, “the close” does not appear in its database, swapping to post code got me to within 1/2 a mile of the college I swapped to google maps and was there in minutes. And WOW what an impressive building.||the staff were very welcoming and made sure I know the current and next key code for the external/internal doors, before giving me my key and giving directions to my room.||The room was small but more than big enough for one person. the room was very clean and tidy; and came with a modern bathroom with lots of hot water.||The College does not offer evening meals, but the staff were able to provide recommendations.||They serve breakfast 0800-0900 which is a little late for me, but it just meant that I went for an early morning walk before breakfast. Breakfast provides everything from cereal to the full fried breakfast and was very nice.||I had a really nice stay…
think long and hard before booking this accommodation, firstly location is great as are the lady,s on reception. we were aloud to prebook the disabled parking onsite , which was good but there it ends. on arrival the manager gary was in reception and my wife and i ( she walks with a stick) checked in (we are in our late seventies) gary gave us room 404 ,small with sloping ceilings and small window that could not be fully opened, the ensuite was small with a loo you could just fit into, loo only flushed after several attempts and the room lock was of the same ilk, but the main concern was the storage of furniture and large blue bags of what looked like linen in a fire escape staircase, we had booked 2 nights but only stayed for one. gary when we spoke to him about these shortcomings said we did not request a disabled room(booking a disabled space assumes a person has a disability) and the other items were all working fine, so be warned if you have a disability and are nearly 80 you to might end up in a 4th floor room of the type we were given.
decided on a budget option so rooms were basic but clean and tidy ,shared bathrooms near by .A lovely old building with great views of Salisbury Cathedral . A very substantial buffet breakfast was provided and there was ample free parking . it is a five-minute walk from shops, cafes and the charter market. Excellent location for visiting the cathedral
We stayed at Sarum College for our retreat and we had a wonderful time. All the members of staff were incredibly helpful and the food was always ready on time, with plenty of choice for everyone. The rooms have everything anyone would need. All facilities are very clean. Location simply could not be better. We had a wonderful time and we would highly recommend this place to any community, parish or group who would like to spend some days together.
Had a great stay here rooms were well appointed and clean. ||Beds were a little on the hard side but room was very nice. Stay offered great value for money compared to other hotels in the Salisbury area. ||Expectations were low but were exceeded. Very helpful and courteous staff. ||Would stay here again when next in the area.
