I have just started a course at The Great British Barbering academy, I am currently 4 weeks into my course and I am absolutely loving it! from the moment I stepped through the door I was welcomed and straight onto the shop floor. All of the educators and amazing at their jobs, I find it so helpful to have different educators on different days as you get to experience everyone’s ways of teaching and different techniques. Everyone is so friendly and is always there to help.
I come from Southampton everyday and although it’s a bit of drive I find it’s a good time to reflect on the day and what I can improve on – i honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough.

This is by far the best barbering academy around. I’m half way through my VRQ level 2 course and I highly recommend it to people who are brand new to barbering or have experience already. All the educators are incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall just a great place to learn barbering. With it being in the centre of Poole, it’s in a great destination for me and a lot of others on my course

I recently completed a 12-week barbering course in Poole, coming in from Devon, and I must say it was an incredibly enriching experience. From the moment I stepped into the classroom, I was greeted with professionalism and a genuine passion for the craft of barbering.

The course curriculum was comprehensive, covering everything from basic cutting techniques to advanced styling and grooming. Each week was carefully structured to build upon the skills learned in previous sessions, ensuring a progressive learning journey throughout the duration of the course.

One of the standout aspects of the course was the quality of the educators. Every instructor brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, making the learning process engaging and enjoyable. However, I must give special recognition to Jess, whose expertise and dedication truly set her apart.

Jess’s teaching style was not only informative but also inspiring. She had a knack for breaking down complex techniques into manageable steps, allowing even the most novice students to grasp the concepts with ease. Her patience and encouragement created a supportive learning environment where everyone felt comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance.

What truly impressed me about Jess was her genuine commitment to each student’s success. She went above and beyond to provide personalized feedback and tailored instruction, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to reach their full potential. Her passion for barbering was contagious, motivating me to push myself further and strive for excellence in every aspect of the craft.

Throughout the course, Jess’s mentorship played a pivotal role in my growth as a barber. From mastering precision cutting techniques to honing my creativity in styling, her guidance was instrumental in helping me refine my skills and develop my own unique style.

In addition to the invaluable lessons taught in the classroom, the course also provided ample opportunities for hands-on practice. Whether it was working on mannequin heads or live models, I appreciated the chance to apply what I had learned under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Overall, my experience with the 12-week barbering course in Poole was nothing short of exceptional. The comprehensive curriculum, dedicated educators, and hands-on learning opportunities all contributed to a transformative journey that has equipped me with the skills and confidence to pursue a career in barbering. And for that, I am truly grateful to Jess and the entire team for their unwavering support.

I am currently training full time at the great British barbering academy (GBBA) it takes me 2 hours every morning to travel to the academy as I am come from Devon but my experience so far I wouldn’t have it any other way and couldn’t recommend them more with actual hands on experience from day one I feel I have learnt and developed my skills at a rapid rate and feel confident to go into a barber shop at the end of my course with the experience and skills they have given me. The educators at GBBA are extremely friendly, helpful and down to earth with masses amount of experience and knowledge that they have been gifting back to us. When I finished my theory lessons and exams Jess went above and beyond to put together a presentation of all the areas I was struggling with most and help me with my confidence and knowledge of them areas something she didn’t have to do.
In conclusion my time at GBBA has been the best and I am going to miss all the team once I have finished and I couldn’t recommend GBBA enough and would encourage anyone thinking of becoming a barber to do it with GBBA as they won’t be disappointed!

travel really far every week and it’s amazing staff are very friendly and helpful definitely would recommend. i have mike teach me on a monday and sandra teach me on a friday i have been supported with my maths and english and given loads of extra opportunities such as a photo shoot with liam oakes. The academy is a very good vibe and would definitely recommend.
