This school is by far one of the best available & if your children want to do well for themselves then this school will 100% help them to achieve this. It’s nice to be able to approach any of the teachers who are always so keen to help. Well done to everyone keep up the good work!!
Terrible! We have had so many problems with Medway UTC. Teachers and students timetables don’t match, so many teachers leave. My son had 5 different teachers for A level Computer Science and the school admitted they couldn’t recruit any teachers to teach the subject which resulted in many students dropping out and only 2 students gained a grade. Timetables had lesson clashes, GCSE resits were not timetabled or taught properly. In total my son had 1 Lesson a week for 4/5 weeks in the whole year to get him through his resit. We ended up getting a private tutor. Teachers not turning up to lesson. I could go on!
If you are considering sending your child here I would think twice! This is your child’s future, unfortunately my son has really been let down by UTC !
Good school. But there is room for improvement (My original review) Since then many staff have left leaving me with supply teachers ect. I have already failed my GCSE computer science because of lack of staff. Many staff leave with little notice. And yes it can be a good school, but there is A LOT of room for improvement
Huge issues that school seems unwilling to address despite complaints from many parents. This is these children’s future in the balance and you can’t mess about with it. Teachers leaving in middle of lessons, computers not working or unavailable, no support, assignments not given out till last minute, lack of staff it goes on and on, so wish I hadn’t trusted my child’s important post secondary school choices to this school!
I really enjoyed my time here at UTC, and had no problems with the staff or teachers at all, I am now currently studying at the University of Sheffield because of this school. This school gives students a chance who haven’t got so great GCSE schools and then helps them to get into a University. I didn’t get the best GCSE results, but thanks to Medway UTC I was able to get a high BTEC qualification which enabled me to go the University I had been wanting to get into for such a long time.
I do agree that there are needs of improvement, but we all need to take into consideration that there maybe other factors coming into play when we are judging a school. Don’t forget that UTC is still a very new school, and will consistently be trying improve. Just give this school a chance, I definitely do not regret going to Medway UTC at all!.
