Having a varied and interesting term-time only job that fits in with the kids is a real joy. The admin team are lovely to work with and all the staff are dedicated to helping students achieve their potential – emotionally, socially and academically.
I went to this school for 7 years between 2009-2016 & I had a wonderful time
The teachers are incredibly supportive, they care very much about free speech & students futures & dont conform to the behaviour you tend to get in mainstream. My interest & love of fine art & cinema was embraced instead of belittled & ridiculed like it was at the college I went to afterwards which led to me having very serious mental health problems & almost made ditch film entirely

Anyway the grounds are also really great & if you need to let off steam if you’re really stressed you can go for a run

There’s also some very qualified threapists & pastoral support who can help you onto the next step & prepare you for the potential problems you could receive in the workplace or College/University

The only issue I have with the school the main building is very old & because the plumbing hadn’t been properly sorted in at least a decade, it did smell sometimes when you’d go towards the kitchen
Which I suppose isn’t anyone’s fault but with the money received. Youd think something wouldve been done about it

Other than that, this place changed my life & made the passionate artist I mostly am today

I was a student at Heathermount school for 9 years it changed my life in so many ways and it is an amazing place the staff are so supportive and kind, I wouldn’t be where I am today at college without the support or guidance of the staff, the environment is a nice place there is a sensory garden which if you need a break from lessons it is nice and calming and at heathermount I had some great opportunities for example the Duke of Edinburgh Award which I never thought I would of been able to achieve but with the help and support of Heathermount staff I was able to achieve it and in PE we would go on football tournaments and PGL yearly which was a great experience with lots of fun activities to do as a team that you would not normally be able to do and learn new skills.
I cannot fault the care that the staff have for the pupils at Heathermount. They have created such a nurturing and thriving environment for children to develop.
