Most of the kids there are extremely disrespectful, talk back to the teachers, swear excessively and are bullies. It’s a waste of such a beautiful campus and facilities, the kids take it for granted and do not realize how lucky they are to have so many opportunities for them to succeed in whatever field they want to be in. There are laptops for every other classroom, state-of-the-art sports facilities, classrooms specially designed for cooking, construction, beauty, dance, drama but honestly, the students don’t deserve it, because they don’t want to study hard in the first place. Even the food offered here is good!
I barely learned anything in my time here and hardly had any friends. The students were incredibly disruptive during class and so we would end up learning nothing. I saw students around me getting bullied, fights happening everyday during break and nothing would be done about it–this is what makes it difficult to say that the management was good. They were nice and helpful, however they also turned a blind eye to the bullying that was happening. Or maybe it’s just that those bullies don’t learn anything, and talk back to those teachers that try to control them.
I do believe that from Year 10 onward the students are mostly better, because the ones that stick around for their GCSEs are more serious about their futures.
I ended up moving to a different school and was a whole year behind my class in every subject–math, biology, physics, chemistry to name a few, and had to spend a lot of time catching up. It was a very simple school that did not offer as much in terms of facilities to the students, but the students there were so hardworking and respectful.
Don’t let the high rating fool you. Please don’t send your kid to this school.
If I were a primary school student choosing a high school, I wouldn’t choose Tong.
it makes me wonder if the teachers are in on this
