Don’t Know if anyone remembers me, my name is Joshua Siegried Langley, i graduated in 2022 and i joined in 2017.
This school is amazing, i’ll start by saying i wasn’t an easy kid, i had ADHD and i was a hyper kid all over the place, bit of a weirdo. But in this school i was able to make friends, learn and more.
The teachers are just great, from Year 3 to Year 8 i had nothing but good experiences from my teachers, they taught us what we needed to learn and if we needed help they would come over and give us their time to help us learn. They helped when i had issues, they were patient with me, they were kind and caring and honestly i had a troubled home life and i loved going to school because i could ignore the horrible home life and just be at school.
You can do excursions, Camps, fun activities there’s so much they do to make school very fun.
It’s easy to make friends, make new experiences, shape your future, learn as a person and a student and so so much more.
Shoutout to Mr Grover and Mrs Soutter, great teachers 🙂
This school helped change me, if i had gone to a different school i might have become a complete weirdo, but the school helped me grow as a person and a student and give me the knowledge i needed for life. I’m not fit, healthy, i workout everyday (still yet to skip a day), I’m gaining stamina and i’m playing to join the army and serve my country.
Thank you to all the staff, the Principle, Vice Principle, teachers, Sick bay staff, everyone, This is an amazing school and i hope to come back and show how much i’ve changed, Please send your kid here i promise you wont regret it.
I hope you all have a blessed life, thanks MVS.

BEST SCHOOL EVER! Sadly, I graduated 🙂 This school is average for academics, the subjects aren’t too hard. The sports were fun especially the games we played in the gym.
We moved to area specifically to get into marina view school and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The school don’t care about their students at all. So many bullies there aswell. I strongly recommend sending your children elsewhere. I took my child out of this school and never looked back.
I could not even think of a reason to give a second star.
Communication from the school is terrible.
The quality teachers get roped into extracurricular activities, which causes reduced quality in the class room, children learn nothing in the last 3 weeks of the year so much focus on final assemblies/prize giving MVTV.
PrizeGiving same kids get the EOY prizes each year (top students and awesome kids miss out), winners seem to be children of board members hmm, but I hear this happens at a lot of schools.
Bullying/stealing results in parents NOT being told to sort their child out. There are no good strategies in place for bullying/stealing.
Playground is not monitored at lunch/play time, boys are allowed to play high tackle and punching games, children not taught to play structured games with proper rules like soccer/touch/cricket, very little gear for kids to play with.
kids that haven’t learned great hand eye skills get left out of events, year on year, teams are picked best players first. and those teachers picking the teams are more focused on sports than the 3 R’s.
The not so good teachers (of which there are numerous) teach bad language/writing habits, and when it comes to math they send the kids to the computers to play math games, when they cannot be bothered teaching. Ask around before you go here you will easily hear about the teachers that under perform.
OK so I think i could have given an extra star for theater, but in hindsight the focus here is too great, detracting from the real reason they are at school, 3 Rs. Do the sums of 3 R’s versus other activities at this school it is 40:60.
A lot of students depart before year 7, which is a clear signal, year 7 and 8 are not being prepared for secondary school at MVS.
My recommendations to the School:
Reduce the focus of the extracurricular activities during the school day, your job is the 3 R’s.
Communicate to the parents better.
Start to enforce a small amount of homework each night, create consequences, to drive accountability, on student and teacher.
Pay the good teachers more and don’t give pay rises to the bad ones.
Be accountable to the daily curriculum, don’t hide behind “ask your child what they are doing”.

Bad school , why do you send a unpaid bill to all the parents for the school donation?
Bullies here also never get held accountable, students of the teachers are always put first.
The Maori teacher here is Indian and doesn’t teach the kids the correct Te Reo in the Kapa Haka group.
Parents often get the blame if their child isn’t doing well and refuse to see that it is within their school that needs assessing.
Please stop invoicing the parents that think they must pay the donation, it is a donation and should not be included in the unpaid invoices!!!
