For a school which is supposed to help and support those with mental health issues it really lacked the support I and many other students needed. Everybody there had their own reasons for being at the school but some students were treated as if their mental health was more important then others. But in a school like that yes everybody has different mental health or the same but it’s different for each person but nobody’s mental health is more important then another’s everyone should of been treated equally. I had some difficulties at the school and they weren’t addressed properly. In situations where me and other students were the victim we were treated as if we were in the wrong when we were not. The school lacked in dealing with serious problems and often pushed them aside. There was no official person anyone could talk to, there wasn’t an assigned person who knew about mental health and for a school which has students in there who struggle someone like this would be vital! I and many other students who attended the school were bullied previously and this school didn’t help the people who were being bullied in the school or had issues with another student. Don’t get me wrong the school was not all bad and there were some teachers who helped me and other students when we had issues. There were some teachers who understood more then others and some teachers who could see both sides of the issue and thought of a reasonable solution which is more then what the headteacher would do or even those who had a higher status in the school. The school also didn’t have any system to do with bad behaviour, they didn’t issue detentions, sent people out of class or anything else this led to students being rude, unkind etc because they knew there was no punishment. I attended the school for two years and although I didn’t face bullying in the school like I did previously I did have many issues such as problems with other students, the way mine and my friends mental health was treated, and how I recieved no support when it was clearly needed.
Went here for my GCSE’s and about 4 months prior to that. I hated school too much but TTCC is absolutely brilliant. I would definitely recommend it if you have been selected to attend here.
