I am a Ross Intermediate alumni having begun my attendance at this institution some 2 years and 7 months ago (as of the time posting this review).

Throughout my time at Ross Intermediate I was apart of the ‘GATE’ (‘Gifted and Talented Education) program which provided a fair amount of benefits, including: Being surrounded by like-minded people with similar opinions and intellectual capacities; having a more relaxed but also regimented learning environment, the list goes on. I found this school adequate to preparing me for high school and ultimately the pillars for my learning even further. I think this school offers many more things though. Such as: a ‘bilingual unit’, in which student’s have a Maori based education; Free sports activities; Many facilities: (individual and clean toilets providing both privacy and comfort; a fully indoor gym with basketball hoops and equipment; a turf containing tennis nets, netball hoops, and football goals); that is all that comes to mind. I especially enjoyed the ‘pod enquiry’ education unit which was implemented during my time there in which each student would go through a circuit taking a different class per term, from what I recall I took: Performing arts; Food tech; Design tech; and Media. All of which I found to be fun and which provided the required fundamentals in each respective field.

In the end, I think Ross Intermediate is a great school which offers plenty of opportunities for a diverse range of pupils, whether they are academically; musically; culturally; or physically inclined, there will be something here for you! I hope this has helped and parent or potential student in finalising their decision in attending this great school!

Ross Intermediate is welcome to all students. I have been lucky enough to experience this school in person, some of the astounding qualities of this school include activities to suit your child(ren), End of the week ‘Refresh’ (It is like a more informal and entertaining assembly.) I have had quite a few kids in my class who had mental issues of ADHD, Autism they will not be judged and they will be treated like others get treated. When there are problems you can be sure they will be addressed. I highly recommend going to this school.
I moved from a country school to Ross Intermediate easily the best decision I have made my whole life the opportunities that are on offer and the amount of amazing teachers. I have truly enjoyed my two years at Ross Intermediate I would recommend it for anyone.
