My experience in this college has been nothing short of harrowing. I won’t lie, the teachers like Jeffrey, Jo, George, etc are really good and helpful and I know they are the type of teachers that want me to succeed given their experience. Plus, the HE students at the Graphic Design course were rather nice and friendly people along with some nice friends elsewhere like Brendan (hachiroraptor).
However, the overall college environment aside that felt didn’t feel welcoming nor friendly in my opinion compared to my previous sixth form as I felt as if I carried the weight of the world. Plus, many of the FE students can be really immature and noisy, generally annoying although some of them are nice. Afterwards, there aren’t many good options for support besides talking to your teacher through teams or at campus and motivation has been a personal struggle.
But the primary culprit (for which the college this time wasn’t at fault but still haunts me) was being there whilst facing my most traumatic and overall worst personal mental health crisis in my entire existence of which I won’t go into for this review. Frankly speaking, this experience was enough to put me off EVER going to Bedford College for good studying for a long time, if not, for good.
