Things we love about this school:
1. THE TEACHERS: They are creative, patient, and so kind. They combine music, art, science experiments, problem solving activities- and so much more- ALL IN SPANISH, to challenge and encourage students- and our daughters adore them.
2. THE FAMILY ATMOSPHERE: We feel supported, included, and cared for by the administration and by the teachers. They send monthly emails from each class, so we know what each of our children will be doing through the month. There are videos and vocabulary lists so we can reinforce at home what the kids are learning at school! Anytime we have any questions or concerns, they are quick to answer! They also have lots of events through out the year to really build a sense of community between families attending the school.
3. THE DIVERSITY: We truly want our daughters to learn that not everyone looks/talks/thinks like they do- and that this is a beautiful thing! The cultural experience of being in a Spanish immersion environment with native speakers is a one-of-a-kind chance for our kids.
4. THE WORLDVIEW: The leadership and staff at this school LOVE JESUS. They love his word and they love his world, and this informs everything they do; because of this I know my kids are safe, and I know they are loved!
My daughter has been attending since they opened and we are extremely pleased. The staff consistently makes us feel welcomed and loved, the lessons are Christ-centered, and my three-year-old is getting wonderful reinforcement in Spanish (we speak Spanish at home as well). I recommend wholeheartedly to anyone. One aspect that I especially appreciate is that they really strive to support the parents as educators as well. They have provided parenting classes to anyone who is interested, have hosted many events at the church and during class times where parents can come participate, and are great about keeping parents informed on what materials are being covered and how we (as parents) can reinforce what they are learning at home. They recognize too that sometimes parents need some time to themselves, and even host child-care programs on Friday nights with different themes to give parents a chance to get out for a date night.

We are planning to continue sending our daughter here as long as they can accommodate her, and they are growing fast, so it’s looking like that will be for many more years! I pray that they will continue to grow each year, spreading their positive influence in our community and beyond.

I have three children currently enrolled at Charleston Bilingual Academy. They are so happy as students at the school and I am such a pleased parent. The teachers are all warm and loving towards the children. They maintain an immersive Spanish environment but in a manner that is nurturing rather than stress inducing. They keep kids engaged and interested by varying their learning time with crafts, activities, exploration, music, and games. The classroom sizes are small. The parents all interact with each other. The administration is well-loved and supportive of teachers, parents, and children. Best of all: Immersion works! Their Spanish gets better every day.
