Do not go here if your kid has any kind of learning issues. They have an obsession with trying to put student’s on drugs. I’ve now had to switch schools after them constantly pushing for it. The final straw was the teacher saying to my child that there are pills that can help there learning.
i went to this primary school and i have gotta say, this is one of the best primary schools out there. it has a very helpfull and supportive learning environment and the grounds are very well maintained. the schools stem program is awesome, i loved doing lego robot competitions, i was so close to winning the tech award in grade 6 but i had laptop issues. almost every teacher was kind to me (almost). the schools japanease classes where insanly good, i still remember the 46 hiragana and most kanji 3 years later. overall i recomend this school becuase it is just really awesome
Be careful if you’re thinking about bringing your kids to this school their policy that they have in place for sick kids are to leave them outside in the scorching heat or heavy rain. There has been a lot of incidents where they have been doing this for quite some time it doesn’t matter if they’ve got a medical condition. They don’t care about duty of care they just care about the money going into the school. So please be careful if you’re about to enroll your kid into the school think about your kids. There was an incident 26/10/2022 where a kid was left outside to wait for their parents. Where they were really sick.
My kids have loved their teachers and have made plenty of friends Helensvale State Primary School. The office staff have been friendly and helpful. Both of my kids are thriving academically. I am very pleased with HSS.
Very cold and punitive school (esp deputy principal for grade 2 in 2017 and a few other teachers who displayed a very negative attitude) for children experiencing emotional difficulties. They told me my son would have the same problems at any school, which experience has proved otherwise. After a year of traumatic experiences at Helensvale causing ongoing anxiety, we changed to a different public school. My son is doing so much better now, emotionally and academically.
