I am so pleased with El Camino High School. Not much has changed aesthetically at the school since I attended in the seventies. Don’t let that fool you. This is absolutely the best public high school within a fifty mile radius. The academics are challenging, school spirit is high, and the opportunities to discover and grow as a student are available to all who seek a top quality educational experience. The teaching and administrative staff are available and supportive. This school truly cares about the health and well-being of it’s students and staff. It shows. I am proud to say my teen attends this fine institution and I look forward to three more years of supporting the activities of this school. I think it is important to note that from the student’s perspective socially, the atmosphere is one of equal opportunity and they do a splendid job of offering a welcoming and inclusive environment. It is a rare gem and their motto of respect, responsibility, and readiness is apparent. Go Eagles.
Great staff of teachers who team teach and for the most part really care about their students. After having a difficult middle school experience he began to thrive after he began in the EPI Program during his sophomore year. He will be graduating with a 3.85 or higher. Teachers have always been willing to communicate with me and help my son and I through any hurdles. Mr. Glazer was kind enough to recommend one of his top 1st string trumpet player to help my 12 year old as he was not able to get in band at Arcade. This student tutors him 2x a week at an affordable rate. She practices music with him and now he is excited to attend his lesson so he can show her what he has learned. I believe all in all El Camino High School is an incredible group of students and staff.
As an alumnus of this fine institution (Class of 1987…), I remember fondly some of the things that made this school great! I met my wife there, and I remember the difficulties with school. I also remember that there were several teachers that made it a point to push me academically! I feel that because of that, I wouldn’t be where I am today without it… Parents, if you live near EC, you couldn’t do wrong by sending your kids there!
