As an allumini, I’d say that Grant is an intresting school. The cultural diversity made me comfortable as an asian but then intimidating at the same time if you actually think about it in a smaller picture because everyone hangs out with only the people they know. The Main campus building is history and that’s what makes Grant special. Most kids in regular classes don’t usually care about school. Grant tries to offer programs and tutoring and support and etc. But sometimes it seems like students don’t take advantage of opportunities. For parents and students who are reading this, the best classes to take are AP and honors classes because those teachers are the best. Grant also has academies that you can join. There’s JROTC, Criminal Justice, ARTS, AVID, and GEO (perhaps more that i don’t know about). I joined GEO and I don’t regret taking it. I would also recommend this academy. GEO stands for Grant’s Environmental Organization and the teachers are incredibly amazing! This academy is about learning about the enviornment. Grant has a beautiful garden maintained by the GEO academy students. The garden is also used as a learning tool for students of the GEO academy and is also used for Kid Garden Tours, where elementry schools have the opportunity to come to grant for a tour and educational experiance about the enviroment. The cool part about the GEO academy is that there is a class that teaches Landscape Arcitecture, where you get to use Auto CAD and PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator. There is also a class where you can learn about buisness and take over the GEO’s salsa buisness. The GEO academy has given me soo many memories and amazing experiances. There are many clubs at Grant as well. I had the opportunity to be president of one called Hmong Club. Some clubs that will be benefical are CSF, Interact, EAOP, Generation Green, and a couple others. Some of the cultural clubs on the top of my head are Poly, BSU, Si Se Puede and Hmong. There are a couple more clubs as well like Class of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021. And yeah. To sum it up, Grant’s pretty intresting. Just be yourself and take the right path to life because once senior life hits you and you messed up, you’ll be devesated and your whole life plays through your mind mixed with Senior-itous. Anyways. This proves you wrong that grant sucks. It doesn’t it. And if you’re a current student and you disagree with me saying that grant sucks, why don’t you look at the bright side honey. Maybe you should join a few clubs and take a handfull of AP classes and join an academy before you disagree with me.
Grant is well known for their sport teams. However, for their academic, which is not as known, is great too. Most, if not all, of the students graduate and go off to college. The teachers are very caring and wants the students to succeed. Most of them are willing to work out any problems with the students if the students just talk to them. Not only are the teachers great but the other staffs as well. They are very enthusiastic and always motivating. Although the school didn’t have a lot of funds and newer things as some of the other high schools, it still had many things to offer. There are numerous clubs, sports, and programs to join. Of course every high school have it’s goods and bads, but that’s what makes the experience worth while and memorable. If you want to attend a high school where teachers care about you and is very diverse, I would recommend this high school.
