My Granddaughter has attended this school since kindergarten and now is in 8th grade. As I am concerned they have not meet her needs and now is having problems getting into a good high school. This has mentally and physically has had a terrible Inpack on her. We may not have the money that most of the children attend this school and has had the financial support from these families for the school, but my daughter has volunteered her time when needed and she was able to help in other ways. She is a single mom and my granddaughters father has been ill for some time, which the school has been aware of. It just bothered me to read that every child who attends this school goes into a good high school when most of all her classmates where accepted to these good schools but not her. I think some really good explanation is needed for this to have happened. I loved this school for her but I see now it was a waste of time especially with all the sacrifices my daughter went thru to have my granddaughter be part of this school and for her to have a wonderful future. My granddaughters name is Olivia Divizio
I transfer my son here in 2022…..we felt not welcome here and the principal Mr. Graves starred and said nothing idk why? I didn’t know at the time he was even the principal.I came inside the school(black mom) everybody starred and said nothing I didn’t kno they were even staffs noone spoke to me until I start walking up the hallway looking lost. He didn’t say hello but the assistant principal lady came out of no where and was very friendly n welcoming they need to trade positions. He called me in his office as if he was disappointed and ask me why did I want my son to attend the school???? But this the same rude principal that didn’t acknowledge me and told me he couldn’t find proof of my son acceptance letter.I had proof and they was hoping I didn’t attend and after the 1st day of not feeling welcoming and my son said he felt like he was invisible and the main principal tryna put pressure on my son with requirements I left.
Both of my kids transferred into a Regional Gifted Center after LaSalle and have received straight As, 5 student awards, and not a single complaint since transferring.
They left LaSalle with close-to-failing grades and non-stop weekly teacher and administrator complaints. They were at LaSalle for 1 year.
That should tell you all you need to know but if an example would help:
Julie Waller, a teacher at this school, pointed at my son and said somethings wrong with him as her way of saying she thought he was disabled… because he was ‘too quiet’. Despite this, she would mock him publicly saying things like good luck with your life if he couldnt find a worksheet. He was 7 at the time. Administrators were present.
The administrators act just like the teachers.
Getting both of my kids out of LaSalle is one of my greatest accomplishments as a mom.
