This school is very nice, they welcomed me in 2015 when I was new, It’s a very good environment to be in. The Teachers are nice and help engage you in lessons. The principles at the time Mrs Devlin, she was very welcome and had a kind heart and Mr K was the best and played with students handball at Recess or Lunch.
Mrs Mcdonald even though she picked on me, she helped me realise things about myself and I thank her for that, Mrs Kidd was really sweet and Ms Goodchild was a really helpful, kind and loving soul, I loved seeing her in the mornings as she would brighten up my day
With the change in principal in 2023, I have seen so much more community involvement, seen FB posts that are more personal, the newsletters are also connecting and up to date with what parents want to see (or at least that’s what I feel). I have also really appreciated the hard work behind the scenes the teachers have put in to support my children’s needs (some needs harder than others). The school hasn’t taken the easy out and has worked as team within the school and also with the child and family, to set up strategies that work for my kid. Thank you to everyone on the great work you are doing. My kids love the school and so do I.
Don’t understand why this school has good reviews, I went here from K-5 and left because its such a terrible school, have no support whatsoever for special needs children, the teachers are so mean and i dont understand why some of them even chose the teaching field, whenever there was a problem and a student addressed it MULTIPLE times, they didn’t listen until a parent comes in and complains. My sisters year 5 teacher was extremely racist and never helped my sister and when my sister reported it so when my mum came in they finally listened yet a week later another teacher comes in and scolds my sister as if she did something wrong. But before all this, our old principal Mrs Devlin was absolutely the best, she engaged with students and actually cared unlike Mr K. Also my kindergarten teacher Miss Costagana is the absolute worse, before kindy, I was a really happy with myself, my skin colour and everything else until she became my teacher, she always looked down on me and never wanted to help me and when I didn’t complete a task bc I didn’t know what to do she screamed at me. I was also a pretty smart child yet I was always doing the easiest work putting me down in Year 1. So before you consider putting your child into this school, please think.
(Also there were a few good teachers but they all left.)
